No more bot bots

So at Emma's 9 month appointment our doctor told us that he wanted her off her bottles by her first birthday. He instructed me when Emma turned 11 months, to replace a bottle a week with a sippy of milk. At 11 months Emma was down to 3 bots a day. So, I first took away the mid-day bot--No problem at all. A week later I eliminated the morning bot--Piece of Cake! So this past week we were down to our 1 bot a day, the evening bot. My plan was to let Emma tell me when she was done with her evening bot. Well, last night she was all cozy wozy after her bath in her PJ's. I made her bot and plopped her in her bean bag. She laid there for 2 seconds and sucked on her bot before she threw it on the floor! So, I picked it back up and asked her if she was done...she responded "Da". I tried to give it to her one more time but she handed it back to me. I said all done...and she said "Da".
Well...my baby is done with her bottles. Something that I hated giving in to when she was so tiny because we were having trouble breast feeding is something I am so sad is ending. It is just one more step away from her being my baby and another step towards her being my little girl.
She is so amazing....Tim is so amazing...my life is so amazing. Thank you, God, for my life.

Beloved

This is a poem that was given to Jodee from her Bible study teacher and she gave me a copy. It is one amazing poem and shows so clearly Jesus' love for every one of us :) I wonder how anyone can get through a day without Him as their Savior?

Love of my life
Look deep in my eyes
There you will find what you need
Give me your life
The lust and the lies
And the past you're afraid I might see
You've been running away from me
Love of my life
Look deep in my eyes
There you will find what you need
I'm the Give of life
I'll clothe you in white
My immaculate bride you will be
Come running home to me
You're my beloved
And lover I'm yours
Death shall not part us.
It's you I died for
For better or worse
Forever we'll be
My live it unites us
And it binds you to me
It's a mystery
You've been a mistress my wife
Chasing lovers that won't satisfy
Won't you let me make
You my bride
You will drink of my lips
And you'll taste new life

Almost 1

I can't believe my little Emma is almost 1 year old. This first year has flown by. It feels like yesterday that Tim and I were rushing to the hospital when my water broke 5 weeks early! I will blog more of my memories closer to her birthday...but for now, I am going to sunggle and hold my baby.

Beach Trip

So we took a couple days and went to Carolina Beach. It was so much fun and very relaxing. It was Emma's first time on the North Carolina coast and she was not so impressed. I think the waves are a little intimidating. After a few minutes, though, she warmed up to the beach. Please hang with me...there are 10 posts (including this one)...so just scroll down. It is mostly pictures....so enjoy! Thanks for looking.

Emma not so thrilled about the water...(and Daddy not looking at the camera)

So I set the timer to try to get a good family shot and a butterfly decided my pink camera looked pretty tasty. She landed right when the camera snapped our picture. Pretty amazing if you ask me! I love this picture.

Emma and Daddy being silly!

Emma was not a fan of the bathtub and the house so we had to stick her in the sink...she loved it!
Emma still refuses to smile for the camera (but she will do that face above...I will take what I can get)

Beach Trip Cont

We had a date night on Thursday night and did dinner and a movie. Before that we went to downtown Wilmington. That is probably one of our most favorite places...and I love the old houses.
