AGAPE

I've opened up the "new post" page on here several times over the last few weeks and almost immediately lose the interest to type.  Sometimes I'm motivated to get our life down on "paper" and other times it just isn't there...

I suppose I should blog about Christmas, taking Emma to see The Nutcracker, going to the Angus Barn with the office--without kids, the 70 degree weekend we just had--in January, two sick kids, my sister and her kids being back from Japan, a visit with my dad...just so much.

A full life indeed!

All that can wait for another day.  It's documented in pictures and my memory for now.  Today I will post about my word for 2013!  It's a way I try to live my life, but this year it is front and center in my mind.  It's no question that I'm a Christian.  My hope is that when a stranger meets me, they realize pretty quickly that I love Jesus. Lately I've been around too many "Christians" that don't show love.  They show judgement, hate and lack of forgiveness.  I want people to see me as a Christian who mirrors the love that Jesus showed us.

My word for 2013 (and beyond) is:
AGAPE

Agape Love.  Selfless, sacrificial, boundless love.  I want to live out this kind of love with my husband, my girls, my family, strangers, people that deserve it the least.  People that don't expect to receive it from a Christian.  I believe if the people that actually called themselves Christians lived their lives showing this kind of love, the world would be a better place.  Christians spend too much of their time finding the bad than the good, trying to say why they are right and somebody else is wrong.  How is that showing love?

That's probably the biggest reason I chose Agape as my word--the greatest form of love.  The kind of love I want to show everyone I come in contact with--in real life and on my friends list on Facebook.  After all, it's the way I would want to be treated by family, friends and people on my friends list.  I know sometimes it's not going to be easy.  Some people make it reeeeeealy hard to love them--and for me, this is where Jesus comes in.  I just have to think about Him on the cross.  Now that's love--Agape love.  If Jesus can die on the cross for me (and you, too) I can love and forgive my greatest enemy.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
~John 15:13

Lovin' like Jesus in 2013!

What a great word choice.

You are a sweet and loving person, and will have no problem following through living your life this way.

Your girls are getting so big!

I wish you the best.
