A day of firsts : September 7, 2011

So yesterday Molly was quite the busy girl! She decided to start rolling from her back to her belly--over and over and over again! I am so excited about this. You see, I never had to deal with a roller in Emma. She is my cautious baby and she decided very early on that rolling was not her thing. I was okay with that--and since rolling was not considered a milestone anymore--neither was her doctor. Emma focused more on her fine motor skills and only perfected her gross motor skills when she absolutely had to!

But Molly....I have a feeling she is going to keep me on my toes! She was playing on her play mat while I was doing a few things. When I went to check on her she was on her tummy! That was not how I left her. So....I rolled her back over to see if it was a fluke. Immediately she goes back on to her belly! So....I had to run a get the camera, rolled her back over, turn on the camera and I get the dead battery message--shoot!...while I am messing with the camera she rolls back over AGAIN on to her belly! This trend continued the rest of the day. EVERY time I would lay her down she would get so mad at me, roll over and pop that little head up with her big eyes as proud as she could be. It was pretty much the cutest thing I had ever seen!!

Even when I changed her diaper, she would try to roll over. I have never had to deal with a squirmy baby during diaper changes. So fun!!

Yesterday she also discovered how to blow raspberries--she spit all over Tim while showing him that new skill. I got a video of both the rolling and the raspberries once I charged my battery. I'll post those next.

It's bitter sweet seeing Molly grow before my eyes--her newborn-ness is fading away but her interactive baby-ness is becoming more clear. I'm in love :)
